I’m Somjit, a PhD student at McGill University and Mila, advised by Professors Derek Nowrouzezahrai and Samira Ebrahimi Kahou. My research focuses on representation learning for Reinforcement Learning (RL), with the broader goal of making RL more practical and impactful in real-world settings. Prior to this, I worked at TCS Research on applying RL to supply chain problems and was part of the Reinforcement Learning and Artificial Intelligence team at the University of Alberta during my Master’s.
At Microsoft, I’m working on the Smart Replay project with the Game Intelligence team, building systems that generate compelling agent behaviors from limited game data. I’m enthusiastic about the project’s potential impact on the future of the video game industry.
