We invite researchers, practitioners, NGOs, community stakeholders, and African academics to contribute to the AfriCHI 2025 workshop:
“Advancing Sustainable Agricultural Practices in Africa with AI: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Inclusivity and Resilience.”

This half-day, in-person workshop will explore how AI can be reimagined to support smallholder farmers through culturally grounded, participatory, and sustainable approaches.

📝 Submission Guidelines:

We welcome contributions in the form of:

  • Position papers (2–4 pages)
  • Case studies
  • Interactive tool demonstrations
  • Discussion proposals or design concepts

Your submission should align with one or more of the following themes:

  • Participatory AI and co-design in agriculture
  • Centering farmer voices in AI system design
  • Decolonizing AI and integrating indigenous knowledge
  • Cross-sector collaboration (academia, industry, communities)
  • Addressing adoption challenges in AI-driven agricultural solutions

Submissions should follow AfriCHI 2025 formatting and be submitted via this form (opens in new tab) by deadline. Accepted contributors will present their work and engage in interactive sessions, including breakout discussions and collaborative roadmap development.
