Senior Researcher

À propos

I’m a Senior Researcher at Microsoft Research. I earned my Ph.D. from North Carolina State University (opens in new tab), where I was advised by Dr. Brad Reaves (opens in new tab). I also served as the lead graduate student for the Wolfpack Security and Privacy Research Lab (opens in new tab).

During my Ph.D., I developed specialized systems and tools to study spam, fraud, and abuse. I designed and managed the largest academic telephony honeypot in the United States. As part of my dissertation, I developed novel characterization techniques to study the telephony threat landscape, which led to numerous publications and awards at top-tier computer security conferences. My work has received the Internet Defense Prize, three Distinguished Paper Awards (USENIX Security, IEEE S&P, and ACM CCS), a Distinguished Artifact Award (ACM CCS), and a Best Poster Presentation Award (NDSS).
