I’m currently with Health Futures at Microsoft Research, where my research centers on foundation models for biomedical AI and their applications in precision medicine. Our mission is to advance AI technologies for precision health by leveraging large-scale real-world patient data alongside publicly available biomedical resources such as PubMed and curated knowledgebases.
Recent highlights of my work include:
- Large language models for the biomedical field, including Medprompt GPT-4, PubMedBERT, CXR-BERT, and OncoBERT.
- Multimodal foundation models for radiology and histopathology images, including GigaPath, LLaVA-Med, BioViL, and BiomedCLIP.
I was born and raised in Kamakura and Tokyo, Japan. Currently, I’m based in the Seattle area, living in Sammamish with my wife and daughter.
