About
Yu Kang (康昱) is a Principal Researcher and Research Manager in the STCA DKI (Data, Knowledge, and Intelligence) group at Microsoft. He concurrently holds an Adjunct Professorship at the School of Computer Science, Fudan University, and is an Honorary Research Associate at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
His research focuses on interdisciplinary innovation spanning artificial intelligence, software engineering, and systems architecture. Leveraging extensive team management experience, he has successfully led the delivery of multiple critical projects, guiding teams in the execution of diverse systems development and algorithmic research tasks.
He is dedicated to translating cutting-edge advancements in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Agent technologies into practical applications for complex software engineering scenarios. This includes spearheading projects in AI-driven code fixing and code migration, alongside training and adopting foundational Cloud/AIOps LLMs.
He received his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Michael R. Lyu. During his doctoral studies, he conducted research at Duke University as a visiting scholar hosted by Prof. Kishor S. Trivedi. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Fudan University.
