Position Title: Research Intern for ML group in Time Series Direction

Group Introduction:

The Machine Learning Group at Microsoft Research Asia drives the frontier of machine learning across theory, algorithms, and applications. Our interests span deep learning, reinforcement learning, graph learning, pre-training, learning theory, and more. We also actively explore how AI can create value in industry, empowering traditional sectors.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct research and drive innovation in advanced time series algorithms and models, including foundational time series models and generative time series models;
  2. Explore the integration of large models with time series data, including multi-modal data, LLMs, agents, and reasoning capabilities;
  3. Investigate the application of time series methods in domains such as healthcare and finance through academic and experimental research;
  4. Publish high-quality research papers, open-source core algorithms, and contribute to advancing the academic frontier of time series research.

Qualifications:

  1. Strong foundation in mathematics, with solid knowledge of machine learning and deep learning;
  2. Proficient programming skills with the ability to implement and train models independently;
  3. Prior research experience and publications in top-tier conferences are highly preferred.

Internship Duration Requirements:

Must obtain permission from your academic advisor and commit to at least three months of internship.

工作职责：

  1. 负责先进时间序列算法与模型的研究与创新，包括时序基础大模型、生成式时间序列模型等方向；
  2. 探索大模型在时间序列领域的应用，包括与多模态数据、LLM、智能体、推理能力等的结合；
  3. 推动相关算法在医疗健康、金融等实际场景中的科研落地与应用探索；
  4. 撰写高质量科研论文，开源核心算法，持续引领时间序列方向的学术前沿。

任职要求：

  1. 拥有扎实的数学基础，具备良好的机器学习与深度学习理论功底；
  2. 具备较强的编程能力，能够独立完成模型的实现与训练；
  3. 有相关研究经验及顶级学术会议论文发表者优先。

工作时间要求

能获得导师许可并保证至少三个月的实习。
