Elevate your writing and collaborate with others - anywhere, anytime
Learn moreTurn to generative AI to get the creative juices flowing by brainstorming book club names. Is there a particular genre or topic you want your book club to focus on? What individuals are you trying to recruit? Whatever it is, tell those details to AI to conceptualize names that are fitting for your club. Let’s say you want to form an all-women book club that reads the current best-selling romance novels. Ask AI, “I want to run a book club focusing on best-selling romance novels. The club will be women only. Suggest 10 fitting book club names.”
Once you pick out a book club name, it’s time to start recruiting! Use image generation AI to create graphics for flyers to attract people to your book club. Post these flyers to meetup platforms and social media, or even post them around your neighborhood. Based on your book club details, leverage AI to brainstorm fitting visuals for your flyers. For example, ask, “Generate a graphic for my late-night horror book club’s flyers called ‘The 3 AM Society’.” Put these graphics in a Word document, and add your text and graphics, making sure to list a meetup time and location. Then, you’re ready to post on different platforms or print them to hang around town!
Try putting together a survey to see what types of books your prospective members like. Ask them for their favorite genres, books, and authors. Take this information from your members and input it into your AI conversation, followed by asking AI, “Based on my book club members’ favorite tastes, genres, and books, please recommend 10 good books that everyone might like.” Once AI generates your list of books, create a poll and send it out to your members to vote on the best one. This way, you’ll pick books that everyone may enjoy.
AI is great for formulating discussion questions that’ll get your group thinking critically about the text. For example, if you’re reading Misery by Stephen King, ask AI, “Generate discussion questions for chapters three and four of Stephen King’s Misery. Incorporate open-ended questions and review questions.”
After each book club session, use AI to summarize what your book club has read and what you talked about. This lets your members, especially those who might have missed a session, stay in the loop. Just make sure you jot down notes or record during your discussion session. Take your notes or recording, input them into your conversation with your AI, and have it generate a summary to recap everything.
When done right, AI brings people together to form meaningful connections beyond just a book club. Get more tips and tricks for using AI in your everyday life, from organizing trivia nights to starting student organizations.
